Finding The Right Anime or movie to watch is exhausting especially when the goal from them is to relax and entertain yourself. So I made a clear anime review list to watch and help you pick only the best of the best of Isekai anime. So I started with my favorite, then went to a good anime that I liked . Then I picked my least favorite anime, which I reviewed and listed for you to check out. Because everyone has his own unique taste in things.
That Time I Go Reincarnated as Slime.
My Favorite anime by far is this one, The story begins when a salary man gets stabs in the middle of the street trying to protect his friends, then all of the sudden transported to a fantasy world, finding himself that he is not just transported but also transformed to a slime, and while he is in the cave, he meets his first most powerful dragon.
Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation
This is one of the most Loved Isekai Anime. They went and made a large number of series, I would say that based on the story of this anime, they are planning at least on making 3 to 4 Seasons, the story is good and the Design is incredible.
The Story of Anime is About a Shut-in Since high school who is now in his forties before he got killed in an accident trying to save someone else. Then finds himself transported to another world, where magic and other species exist. (i think this is enough, i don’t like spoiling the anime, so you need to watch it yourself.)
TSUKIMICHI -Moonlit Fantasy-
This one is my Second Favorite Isekai Anime, after (That time i got reincarnated as a slime). The Anime is about an unlucky highschool boy getting transported to another world then find him self unlucky in that world too, its like he is always not in a good situations, and bad things always following him around, the story is great especially at the end of things, i’m looking forward for the second season of this anime.
The World’s Finest Assassin Gets Reincarnated in Another World as an Aristocrat
This anime is Great at the moment it is still airing, but it’s actually a great anime, from the first couple of episodes as far as I’m concerned. The Story is About The Best Assassin in the world getting betrayed by his clients and blowing him in the middle of the air when he was traveling. The man wished to get a chance then he found himself in another world born in a family of assassins that consider themselves as humans who kill people for the sake of the good to their Kingdom. His objective is to kill the hero of that world.
The Rising of The Shield Hero.
The story of four heroes was summoned from another world, however, the main anime character is the Shield Hero, Nahfomi Iwatani, a 20 years old, college student. Transported to another world after reading a book about the heroes. The extraordinary thing about this anime is that it shows that no matter the challenges we can overcome it with determination and hard work. I often look at the message behind the anime to determine if it is worth watching, that’s my personal point of view.
Re:ZERO – Starting Life in Another World.
This one is a pretty interesting story, even though it left a lot of details at the end of the 2021 season but it is still a really good and popular anime. The story begins, right after the boy Subaru exits the convenience store, somehow he got transported to another world, where magic and his elf girlfriend exists. His main ability is to come back to life after being killed, to a certain point, it works like a checkpoint when you save progress in a game.
No Game, No Life.
It’s a little bit ecchi but it’s definitely a great anime. On the strategy side of things and thinking outside the box, the anime is about two genies who live together conquering the world of games and beat everyone, transported to another world where games controls lives and nations.
Arifureta: From Commonplace to the World’s Strongest
Personally, I think this anime is way underrated, The Story is incredible, it’s about a classroom being dragged to another world, to be heroes. Then while they are in a dungeon, one of the classmates betrays his comrade and tries to kill him, making him fall off a bridge. Then the poor boy was not skilled in fighting, which made him experience all kinds of despair and suffering. Which then made him decide to fight back and survive on the bottom of the abyss of the labyrinth. Then he started to gain power. And that is what the title is coming from, “from commonplace to the world’s strongest.”
Seirei Gensouki: Spirit Chronicles
A 2021 Summer anime, it was so popular in the east of the world, mainly because its about reincarnations and stuff, but I want to say it is not that bad. The story begins when a university student was in a bus going to school, suddenly the bus crossed the road and hit a train and killed all its passengers. The boy then finds himself in another world, alone with no mother nor father, with certain events he grows stronger.
Welcome to Demon School Iruma-Kun.
This one is hilarious. The kid Iruma-kun has a push-over personality, he can’t refuse anyone that demands help from him, and the trigger is “please!”. The kid was born in a family where his parents were taking advantage of his weakness, then sold him to a demon that took him as his grandchild and plans to raise him in the Netherworld. The kid starts going to school where their first song is about eating humans, (he is one but no demon notices that.)
Problem Children are Coming From Another World, Aren’t They?
It’s about super powerful humans that possess an extraordinary power that allows them to do things. They all received an invitation to another world where playing games solve conflicts between nations which they called in the anime as Communities. Unfortunately they all have a bad personality, and act on their own that’s what problem children mean in the title.
The anime is Underrated, the story is so good, it’s about a nation that lost everything and decided to rise again and regain their flag and name from a demon lord. I kinda get why the anime is rated lower than I expected, considering the story didn’t end yet and the fact that they are not planning to launch another season, it’s understandable. But all things considered, I still think that it is a good anime and it is underrated.
Drifters.
This anime is not quite a regular isekai anime, it’s more historical to me than Isekai, but i like to call it a Historical mix in another world. Basically the story is about heroes from around the world. That lives in the past and being transported to a world to fight another mix of dark heroes and beast creatures. So we can call this one an Isekai Anime, plus it’s a great one.
High School Prodigies Have It Easy Even In Another World
This one is really good but didn’t get much attention. The story of this anime is about a group of high schoolers who exceed the normal skills and knowledge in a specific industry.
In flight the group were traveling to a specific destination for a work that needed their expertise, the plane got crashed and all of the sudden, the high schoolers group found themselves being transported to another world.
The Saint’s Magic Power is Omnipotent
This one is a good one, at first I didn’t want to watch it from the first episode. But later when I watched the first 3 I found out that the anime is actually good. The story of the anime is about a hero or what they call (a saint) who they were looking for to save them or something. Then they mistakenly summoned two of them and then they argued which one was the real one, then they chose one and kept the other one as a guest in the castle.
The Devil is a Part-Timer.
The Anime first looks like a regular fantasy anime where the hero fights a demon lord and saves humanity, but this one is not. The Demon lord (Mao) escaped from the hero and came to this world and became a part-timer, Due to certain circumstances.
Cautious Hero: The Hero Is Overpowered but Overly Cautious
This one is insanely good anime, aside from meddling with religious beliefs, the comedy side of the anime is hilarious. Like how cautious the hero is, and how pathetic his guardian girl is, how he is treating her, is kind of funny. Actually there is a good story behind it and the ending is good two. So it’s really worth watching.
Death March to the Parallel World Rhapsody.
Death March stands for the protagonist’s life before being transported to another world, where he was working all day everyday on programming games. And just after he finished a game he was transported to another world where Cute girls were all around him. It sounds like a harem anime but it’s not. It’s more like a slice of life anime, nothing crazy
Isekai Cheat Magician
Anime about high schoolers again and the story here is about having a ridiculous affinity for magic. It’s kind of a standard Isekai anime. The great thing about this anime is the graphics, design and effects that I liked most about it. My favorite Episodes are from 1 to 6. After the death of a character I kind of hated the anime for that but overall it’s still underrated and good to pass time.
Banished from the Hero’s Party, I Decided to Live a Quiet Life in the Countryside
For the first couple of episodes this one looks like a regular fantasy slice of life anime, i don’t like it this much. For the first episode I was excited that this one was going to be big but I think they blew it, it could have been a great one. The Anime is still airing though so it’s not my final personal thought yet.
The Master of Ragnarök & Blesser of Einherjar
This anime I can’t Say for sure is underrated, but it’s understandable considering no Drama in this anime is extraordinary, but I can’t say it’s bad either. It’s one of my favorites, the anime story is about a highschooler who found a mirror that could transport him from his world to another war era in another world, the kid didn’t know though until it’s too late. The good thing about this anime is learning about old school tactics in battle, and leadership.
Death March to the Parallel World Rhapsody.
Death March stands for the protagonist’s life before being transported to another world, where he was working all day everyday on programming games. And just after he finished a game he was transported to another world where Cute girls were all around him. It sounds like a harem anime but it’s not. It’s more like a slice of life anime, nothing crazy.
Grimgar of Fantasy and Ash
This one is a great anime, I didn’t believe that this anime had few fans, it’s really an isekai drama. Great to watch. The story is about people who lose their memory and find themselves in another world, where they fight to survive.
In Another World With My Smartphone
The title is a little bit off, but I kinda like it. The anime didn’t get much attention, the quality of the design is not that great especially when the other anime are competing with high quality, its kinda low quality. I didn’t like it at first but it’s not so bad. The anime was cool and all, but I don’t like anime that interfere with religious beliefs that much, so I don’t recommend it for people that are not strong when it comes to their religion.
I’m Standing on a Million Lives.
A Couple of Teenagers on Highschool transported all of the sudden one at a time to meet a pervi looking guy, that transports them to another world to help the villagers and clear a quest in order to prevent their real world from being crushed.
Knight’s & Magic
This one is about a Genius who loved robots being transported to another world where the golden age of robots, it’s kind of Convenience at least. The Anime Didn’t Get a lot of attention but i recommend watching it, it’s great having to see someone obsess about something and enjoy building it. The unique thing about this anime though is inner conflict and like a cold war between nations and the protagonist of the anime beats them all.
Demon Lord, Retry!
This one I watch a lot of times, basically when I’m bored, it’s about a game master who is dragged into another fantasy world, as a main character from the game that he was creating. The anime is not that bad but it really has been underrated. I like it and it’s entertaining to me, so I like to recommend it to you too.
How a Realist Hero Rebuilt the Kingdom
This is a good anime if you enjoy political animes, for me it’s not. I like intelligence for this kind of anime where the hero must build something. But they went and blew it, though this is my personal opinion on the anime, but overall it’s still not a boring one.
The Story is About a Student who got transported to another world as a hero, and the kingdom who are responsible for summoning him are planning to send him to another country as payment. He then chose another path for himself suggesting to the king that he is capable of making the nation better, if they follow his instructions.
The Fruit of Evolution: Before I Knew It, My Life Had It Made
At first this one looked like an ecchi harem anime to me but later, i found out that it is only a comedy isekai harem anime, the thing is that this anime could have a better rating, for i see it as an underrated anime. Because it is funny actually, they only mess things up when the protagonist falls in love with a gorilla which is not what i expect even from an anime, they could have gone to another scenario, but overall is not that bad.
The Dungeon of Black Company
This One Was good at first, a Successful business man got summoned to another world, and suffered the starting from secrutch fate. Then, it went weird after the 5 or 6 episode where a certain event made me confused about what’s going to happen now, then I lost track of what the story is about which made me quit watching it.
My Next Life as a Villainess: All Routes Lead to Doom!
To be perfectly honest i didn’t even bother to watch this one after the first episode, i stopped watching, they say its good but it’s not my style. The story is about a character that got transported to another world where he played the villain, or that’s what I understand.
And If You Consider entering a game an Isekai anime so these are my recommendation for you:
Sword art Online.
This one is one of the famous anime series of all times because of its first successful launch of the first season the anime earned the right to launch several series and movies. The story of this anime is a VR MMO game that uses a nerve gear, which is like a VR Gear but you can’t move your real body in it. The idea of the anime is based on what game creators are aiming to achieve in the future, which is kinda amazing. Anyway, this game took all the players hostage and locked in the virtual world, and the only way to escape is to clear the game.
Accel World.
The anime is similar to Sword art online but its not a game that trap people but instead it can interfere in the real world its based on a theory that the mind can process information faster than we think, and by using that time will look like its stopped for the player. The story of accel world: the unlimited burst, about a fat boy who is being bullied at school and the only way he thinks that he can escape is through virtual games. Then one day his senpai, (upper classman) save him from his reality by offering him this game.
BOFURI: I Don’t Want to Get Hurt, so I’ll Max Out My Defense.
This one is a regular VR MMO game that has a similar idea, but there is nothing dangers happening in the anime just some people playing around. Nothing special more than an insane defense ability for a player made him invincible.
Seven Senses of the Re’Union.
One of the underrated anime, the story is kinda weird but very entertaining, its about a game too but its about a group of students who got hocked on a vr game since primary school and one day as they are little one of their comrades got killed or die in the street. Which made the group dispatched. Then one day the guy who is close to the girl that she die, went to play another version of the game when he all grown up, and Suddenly the girl showed up in the game then they found that she is stucked in the game but here body is dead.
These animes however are based on my personal preference and personal judgement, i just wanted to share them with you, so check them out and let me know which one you liked the most out of all this Isekai anime.
