The Big Bang Theory has a lot of References from Deferent TV shows, Movies, Science theories, Comic books, and even Games. Also, it contains similar scenes ideas from an outstanding TV Show called: FRIENDS. Those moments are almost like they were copied or stolen from this show by The Big bang theory.
Filling out the Hospital Form:
Although the script of the scene is different, the idea is the same; a victim of an unfortunate accident and someone who is super annoying focuses on every detail. this one highlighted that a nerd and stupid could be very similar.
In the Big bang theory, when Penny dislocated her shoulder, Sheldon went to the hospital with her. everything was okay until he started filling out the hospital form, with his attitude Sheldon begins annoying Penny with his answers and questions while she was in pain.
In Friends, When Ross Tries to Hit Joey with his fist, the other dodges the punch which led to a broken thumb. Joey felt bad and went with ross to the hospital. Joey then offers his help and starts filling out the form. This time the annoying one is kind of stupid, so he asked ross questions a friend should already know the answer to, or not knowing his occupation and replacing it with Dinosaurs.
Smile to Take a Picture:
The similar scenes here are quite similar, when “Chandler Bing” went to take a picture with Ross’s sister, he can’t help but make a funny face. from the big bang theory, when raj was taking a photo of “Stuart Bloom”. The comic book store owner start doing a really weird stupid face like he didn’t know how to smile.
The Idea is when people get nervous in front of the camera they can’t act normal, so, they make funny faces unconsciously.
Two Glasses on the Table:
First, from the Big Bang Theory: When Penny was having two glasses on the table, Sheldon asks her about it but she lies and said that she has a drinking problem.
Similarly, in Friends: Before the relationship between Monica Geller and Chandler was public, Joey goes to the apartment of his friend and then saw the two glasses on the table, Monica also lies to Joe and said the other was for him.
The Idea is sometimes the smallest detail on the room could sold you out.
This is My Spot:
Even though the difference in the Explanation is big, the idea of being obsessed about something is what matter. in the big bang theory Sheldon explains why he can’t sit somewhere else, in a more scientific way, that gives him more comfort. in Friends, Joey explains why this is his spot in a more ordinary common way.
Fake Marriage (But its Real):
Penny thought that the marriage ceremonies in the chapels are fake and they don’t hold any credibility but Leonard, Amy, and Even Sheldon know that is wrong and correct Penny’s assumption on the matter.
From Friends: It was more of a location base marriage which is stupid to think that such a thing exists. However, Phoebe believed it and shared her thoughts with Monica. But soon She realized that she was wrong after Monica explained how stupid her words are.
A Weird thank You (After I love You):
In Friends: Ross Tries to confess his feelings to a friend he made and is about to leave the airport, and just after he tells her that he loves her, She responded with a weird thank you and left making ross speechless.
In Big Bang Theory: Leonard Tries to open his heart to Penny that he loves her, she also responded with a vague weird thank you, which made Leonard speechless too.
Shopping with a girl:
The Idea in this scene is when a girl offered something for a guy to try, the guy refuses even if he looked amazing, but the similarity here is when they went shopping for new clothes.
In Big Bang Theory, When Sheldon and Penny went out Shopping, to make him less stressed out in public. Sheldon picked out every suit that make him look weird, but when he tries what penny chooses he said that he looked absurd.
Similarly, in Friends, When Ross, Rachael, and Phoebe went to buy new clothes for ross to impress a woman, he refuses everything that Racheal picked out for him, even though he has a point.
Final thoughts: The Scenes might differ in scripts but the ideas behind them are not that unique. no one knows if these scenes were deliberately copied or stolen from FRIENDS by Big Bang Theory but they are for sure very similar.
